Essa noite novamente choveu bastante, após 3 ou 4 dias de estiagem. A PDC-Itajubá (Plataforma de Coleta de Dados) não marca a quantidade de chuvas, mas foi bastante, chuvas vindas do leste desta vez, quando o normal é virem de sul-sudeste.
Fim de tarde visitamos o terreno e a wetland. As intervenções de ontem funcionaram lindamente: nenhum odor e o solo a mais absorveu bem o excesso de água que caiu nas últimas horas. Chegando mais perto, um leve, muito leve odor é percebido e já havia notado que vinha do filtro de britas, acima da wetland. Como a idéia é fazer uma intervenção de cada vez para observar os resultados, passo-a-passo, havia já pensado em colocar solo também no filtro, o que fiz somente hoje.
Cobri então a brita com um saco de plástico trançado (esses de farinha de trigo, que pode ser comprado em qualquer padaria por uns R$ 0,50) e sobre ele o solo. O saco evita que a terra se misture à brita. Abri então as torneiras para ver como a água se comportaria e tudo correu bem: esse solo será agora um elemento a mais na pré-filtragem da água que chega ao sistema.

New flowers in the kitchen garden. Lettuce grows quickly. After a few days of dry weather, the rain was torrential last night. Although there is no official information about rain precipitation in this area, it poured down with heavy rain all night long. And this time the rain came from the east coast, whereas it usually comes from the south-southeast coast.
Late afternoon we visited the construction site paying special attention to the wetland. The intervention the day before seems to have worked well as the wetland is not giving off any odor and the extra amount of soil seems to have absorbed the excess of rain. A closer approach and we notice a faint odor coming from the bed of stones, above the wetland. As the idea is to make small interventions so that we can follow the results step by step, we decided to cover the bed first with a plastic sheet and then with sieved soil. The plastic sheet is to avoid the soil to mix with the stones, while the soil will play a decisive role in the pre-filtering process of the water coming to the system.
